Hello and Welcome

Welcome to Kimberly Cook Designs! (Formally, Thirteen Chairs)

Hi, I’m Kimberly, and I’m so glad you’re here. My blog is a space where creativity and practicality meet, offering DIY enthusiasts and fellow artists the inspiration and guidance they need to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Who Am I?
I live in Morrow, Ohio, but my journey started in Michigan, with stops in Florida and a few other places along the way. Moving so frequently taught me to make each new place feel like home, often on a tight budget. That’s where my love for upcycling began—transforming old furniture, walls, and whatever else I could get my hands on into something fresh and unique.

Over time, my passion for DIY expanded beyond just furniture. Now, I create unique planters, art, coasters with alcohol ink, resin trays, serving boards, and even upcycled items to use in my projects. My journey from a demanding retail management job to starting my own business has been both challenging and rewarding, but it’s allowed me to do what I truly love—creating and sharing my work with others.
