Hello and Welcome

I’m Kim, I live in Morrow, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. I am originally from Michigan and have lived on both sides of that state as well as seven years spent living in Florida when my babies we little.  With all of our moving I learned to adapt to each new place  and make my home my own by painting and repainting furniture, walls and everything else that could be painted.  We moved frequently so I spent my younger years doing this when money was tight but I still wanted my home to look amazing.

Since then things have changed a bit in addition to up-cycling furniture I make jewelry, art and coasters with alcohol ink and acrylic paints, resin trays and serving boards, up-cycle junk like fire hose nozzles and sometimes a little upholstery.  A few years ago I got the bug to start my own business, painting beautiful furniture for customers that would love having it as much as I like painting it.  At the time I was working for a major home improvement retailer in a management position that was frequently physically demanding and mentally draining and I knew I couldn’t keep it up for ever. I was getting older (never old, only older), and if I was ever going to start now was the time.

I started part-time, friends and coworkers started to bring me furniture, in particular, chairs. I started with around thirteen which is where the names comes from.  I have since added quite a bit to my stash,  dressers, tables, trunks and pieces of furniture, vintage collectibles.  I had collected so much in the beginning it was a bit overwhelming, my basement looked like a hoarder lived down there and it was tough keeping hubs out of the basement so he didn’t see how much I have accumulated.  Then we moved….downsized…the movers came up out of the basement and said “well we left you a path” he just looked at me.  It has become a family story about how scary it is down there, but I love it.

I work primarily on furniture, art and home decor take a look at my furniture portfolio page, resin and art products are in my Etsy store which you can find by clicking on the “Shop Now” button on the top right.

I am grateful that I have the opportunity to do what I love. Thanks for stopping by!
